Here lately my 9-month old DD has been screaming all day at daycare whenever the teacher or her assistant isn't within arms distance of her.
It's not even so much separation anxiety because she does it even when she can see her, if she's not right next to her. She does it occasionally at home, but typically only when she's sleepy at night. Anyone else tackled this problem? |

My 10 month old started doing this last month too. It's still separation anxiety. She wants to be in my arms ALL the time. Is she teething? It seems worse on days that her teeth are also bothering her.
Since I work from home, I'm with her during the day while she's awake and I can pick her up if she wants it. If I have to do something like go to the bathroom or prepare her food, I'll calmly talk to her and say "you're okay, I'm right here, I'm not going anywhere". It doesn't always work, but it's a phase...they'll grow out of it

| Agree with PP, try to do what you can to ease her anxiety, i.e., be with her as much as possible. Ask if her daycare teachers can make an attempt to help her through this phase be giving her extra attention. She'll grow out of it faster if she gets the extra attention she needs at this point in her development.Good luck! |
