Personally, I love Curb Your Enthusiasm. It's deeply uncool, so that's not the appeal. They did another season recently. Not the point anyway-- the point is Hilary and Alec are looking for validation when they should be looking for money. No one will validate impersonating a foreigner and acting dumb in the process ("I don't understand the joke!" "We didn't have a TV in España!") If their PR team weren't a bunch of hacks they would be lying low and making deals rather than coming to DCUM and calling one of the wealthiest, fittest, and most educated populations in America a bunch of fat, poor, jealous people. I saw a little bit of anger come out on a posted video earlier in the thread. It was in December and they were disagreeing about tv and their children watching, (can’t remember) but Alec seemed annoyed at her response.

I wonder at what point Alec figured out the con. For sure he thought she was Spanish in the beginning. But now he kind of has to defend her or else he looks like a fool. I can’t believe the commitment, naming all her kids Spanish names. This is just really sad. I’m not jealous of her, I actually feel really sorry for her. It must be exhausting living this scale of a lie.

I mean, Alec’s been made a fool of very publicly by her. Everyone knows that he fell for a scammer and then continued to be hypnotized for a decade while she carried out a false identity. I'm sure he's had doubts in the past. So he's protecting her to protect himself.

That said, her crime is a serious misdemeanor and not a felony. He could easily recover down the road by saying we've all done something to impress someone, and it is what it is, but she's a good person and they are moving on, imiting paella to once a week now. They are melting down like it's the end of the world and intimidating people. It's really unbecoming.

Meh, Alec got a hot wife who is staying in shape and bringing in some money on her own and having his babies. I'm not sure he was really scammed. They both look like fools, but I don't think he was scammed in any way.
