Leaving Baby overnight with a sitter - what information to leave?

Anonymous
So this will be our first night away from the little guy and a friend is caring for him overnight. We're thrilled and scared at the same time - OK, my husband is thrilled and I am scared. So I've made the list of contact numbers, pediatrician numbers, vital stats (weight and height) and the nighttime routine.

We're leaving a car with a carseat. We'll go over instructions to buckle him in but I think she's OK in that department. Stroller and baby carrier demo. Go over location of diapers, wipes, jammies, clothes, blankets/lovey, bottles, milk, food, medicines (tylenol, teething, etc).

What an I forgetting? What would you want to know if you were staying overnight with a friend's kid?

A signed piece of paper saying,

"we the parents of baby joe give sally jones permission to seek and consent to emergency medical treatment in our absence should our child require it"

parents signature, date

I used to work in the ER and this piece is crucial.

Other than that, you sound like you have it covered if you've already gone over his feeding and eating patterns and your comfortable baby will be able to be fed and soothed by the caregiver.

Just wanted to second this - we made a few trips without my daughter when she was older and we always did this.

If you live in DC - the phone # for Chevy Chase / Bethesda Emergency Rescue 301-652-1000 (do not dial 911)

Your address and Cross Street in case they need to tell that to an emergency responder

Childs Date of Birth - they always ask this when you call the Dr

And another good one, does your child wake up at night? Maybe a few ideas of tricks that work best to get your child back to sleep. Maybe rocking while singing twinkle twinkle little star, or walking around the house? Every child is so different, its nice to have that written down incase baby wakes up.

OP here - thanks for all the ideas.
