You don't need to prep your child. The teacher will have sample questions.

Sample questions aren't enough? Can you prep your child for every test they will encounter in the future?

Yes.

Why do you need it? The test is not supposed to be studied for. If your child can't get the answers right without prepping, then he/she is not smart enough to pass it and, well, there you go.

+1

Rather than start a whole new debate on prepping for a test that is supposed to look at ability, just go read all the other threads on this please.

Can someone tell me why on earth they are testing kids in first grade? It's way too young. Intelligence is not stable at that age and the results are not reliable.

The real purpose is to identify kids with extra needs, either at the low or high end. Also, waiting to the second grade (for aap consideration) results in both the Fat and the nnat being given within a few weeks of each other. A bad month could hurt a kids

Mercer publishing has the NNAT prep book. To the PP, are SATs supposed to be studied for? Gimme a break! Of course, prep your kid. Why wouldn't you? AAP is like night and day when compared to general ed. Advocate for your kids and offer them all that you can to help them get the best education that tour taxes pay for!

Here we go again, comparing an ability test to an achievement test...
