I really thought I had symptoms this time so, against my better judgement, broke down and took a First Response Early test. Test says it can detect HCG in 61% of people 6 days before period is due. Anyone here not get a positive until later in cycle? Period is due Monday. I know I should have waited..............but I didn't and now I'm looking for reassurance. Temp is much higher (99.1) than usual and breasts started being sore 6 DPO and still are. |
Of course there is still hope! That's pretty early. You could have implanted later. There is hope until AF arrives. Good luck. |
I got a negative with the First Response Early Test 14 DPO. I was doing an IUI cycle, so we knew exactly when I had ovulated. |
I should clarify- I got a negative 14 DPO, but then the beta test the dr. did came back positive and I was indeed pregnant. |
Yeah, and if your temperature is still high, I'd say there's still hope. How many high temps do you often get? |
My basal is usually around 97.6 and then between 98.4-98.6 after ovulation until period. I was pregnant earlier in the year and temps varied but were as high as 98.8 before period was due, which made me suspicious and sure enough, BFP. Unfortunately, I miscarried 8 weeks later. This time I've had a few 99.1 temps. I also had a lot of twinges earlier in the week and a few sharp momentary pains. I wouldn't call them cramps but they were not usual. Also, my breasts are never this sore so far from the due date of my period. |
Fingers crossed for you but try to just distract yourself for a few days ... both symptoms and early HPTs are prone to get hopes up and also dash them! |
+1 |
Period was late, took a home test, negative. A week later, broke my arm and the hospital did a test before they did X-rays and it was negative. 3 weeks later, missed another period, test was positive, ultrasound said 7 weeks pregnant. |
Not to bum you out but to offer caution - assume you are on progesterone suppos. I have found that the symptoms caused by progesterone are so cruel. For me, they differ each month. One month I have no symptoms, but then last month I had all the symptoms you list and was not pregnant. I do agree with others that there is absolutely still hope, but do not rely on your symptoms for too much hope at this point. Best of luck to you |
6 days before period is due is still pretty early - assuming they're going with a 14 day luteal phase, that means 8dpo. Very few people get positives 8dpo.
Personally, this month I am just sucking it up and waiting until the day after I expect my period, which is also my birthday, so if it's not a happy birthday to me, at least I can get buzzed at my birthday party ![]() |
Not the OP, but thanks for these responses. The information is helpful. Especially about progesterone suppositories making you think you are having symptoms that are from the medication. |
+1 I have been fooled by progesterone too many times to count. The only symptom that has reliably worked for me (for now!) has been bloating. |
