It's pretty clear that the only thing that Romney knows how to competently do in the international area is to open a foreign bank account. |
It was boneheaded, but he never had a chance to begin with, so I think to say he lost it today is a bit much. He's never been in the running and is going to lose by a landside. |
OP and PP, you folks need to get outside the beltway. It's amazing to me that the coverage I've heard today is about Romney making a political gaffe, but nothing at all about Obama's actual handling of this situation. Zilch. Zero. The MSM is pathetic and should be embarassed for not actually covering the story, but covering only the politics around the story. So lame and you people buy it, hook, line, and sinker. Geesh. |
PP, I agree with you that no matter how you slice it Obama will not win by a landslide, though I think he will end up winning. But you also can't blame the media for covering the politics when the CANDIDATE and his clearly inept team started the controversy by trying to score political points before they even had their facts straight. The American people deserve to know that the Republican candidate for President is rash and untested when it comes to his judgement in situations like these. The reality is that Romney has been "schooled" by the neocons who act like little boys playing cops and robbers instead of rational statesmen. Sorry if you don't like, but Romney did this to himself, and no amount of blaming the media is going to change that. You sound like that whiner has-been Sarah Palin. |
OK, I have literally been away from internet and news all day. What, exactly, did Romney do/ say that was so bad? |
Romney stood up for america while obama apologized to terrorists. |
Like to spread BLATANT, OUTRIGHT LIES MUCH? Let me guess, you're voting the straight liar ticket Romney/Ryan? |
OMG. Do you not understand that the embassy statement that is being called "the apology" was released BEFORE the attacks in Libya and was designed to head off the violence that erupted anyway? |
That's why he is up five points in the polls over the past 24 hours. |
The Washington Post Editorial Board has a good take on this:

And to top it off, when Romney had the opportunity this morning to walk last night's statement back, he repeated and reemphasized it. Worse yet,he smirked during his remarks, betraying how pleased he seemed to be with himself and a perceived political opening. But he badly miscalculated. It makes his denigration of his
British hosts during the Olympics seem like a diplomatic tour de force. Mitt should learn to control his Yapp. |
I'm not sure what media you listen to (although I can guess), but I heard about Obama's response repeatedly in multiple outlets and media (online, radio, TV). Even conservatives like Bill Kristol are bashing Romney over this. Obama is just soooo much more presidential. |
Romneybot is not capable of complex thought. I am only programmed for platitudes. Please rephrase your question. |
