Yesterday at the dentist's office he and I were chatting while he futzed around DD's mouth. At one point we were talking about implants and he meant teeth implants (veneers?) and I meant boob implants. When we got straightened out he said, "Well, you know I'm gay right?"
We both laughed and the conversation moved on. Actually I did know he was gay. I was told about him years before ever going to him, and told about his personal life (he's gay, adopted daughter). Was I supposed to say anything when he said that? Or was he saying it like that's his reason for not knowing from boob implants? |
| you talk to your dentist about boob implants? |
I think he was being light-hearted and funny. As if to say "boobs aren't even on my radar".
|
| PP - correct! |
| OP it is a rhetorical question. |
| what about the opposite |
| He probably thought you were trying to make a pass at him. |
| Something to ponder. |
+1 Why else would you talk about boob implants with your daughter's dentist??? |
| Yes, it could have been a light-hearted joke, if you guys are really friendly and kid around or he might have thought you were interested in him and he was (awkwardly) trying to "head it off at the pass." |
the nerve |
Because we were talking about celebrities who alter their looks and Hillary Duff's teeth came up and we were agreeing how unnatural looking changes are bad, and that's how implants came about. I was NOT making a pass at him at all. |
+2 He might have been telling you he's ineligible. |
|
OMG people do none of you have any real conversations in this world? He obviously was shooting the shit and saying boobs weren't on his radar.
I must be the only one who engages in 'inappropriate' topics when blabbing. |
Don't worry - you're not alone. I'm the OP and apparently I have real conversations too. We can have some with each other. (Now everyone will think I'm hitting on you...) |
