And Hillary will be Obama's running mate? Could this be a reality? My dh, who at the moment is supporting McCain, said he'd vote for Obama if Hillary was his running mate. I'm getting a little too excited ![]() |
Not a chance. |
Even with Hillary on the ticket, she has a huge negative rating, so, IMO, any excitement it would create would also prompt people to vote against the Clintons. |
The only individual more divisive than Hillary is Palin. So...it could definitely work. |
Obama has too much pride to put HRC next to his name.

I don't understand -- waht is this about? Why in the world would Biden step down? |
I thought the same thing. I guess people have nothing more to muse now that every aspect of Palin has been discussed on this forum. |
Read the context. He got annoyed when somebody (some Hillary hating half-wit obviously) said he was glad Hillary wasn't Obama's running mate. Biden replied ot the jerk and was being complimentary to his colleague.
I was seriously miffed when Obama didn't pick HRC as his running mate. She earned it. But this whole Palin madness (the hockey mom being a heartbeat away) has firmly pushed me back in line. Not to mention McCain version 2008 is even scarier than he was eight years ago. |
Love "Hillary hating half-wit" (HHHW). The alliteration made me laugh. If you spend any time reading what the GOP has to say, they are thrilled beyond measure that Obama passed over HRC. Her negative rating pales in comparison to the millions of votes she would have brought in (and Biden has the lowest favorability rating of all four candidates anyway). Clinton fatigue pales in comparison to the prosperity and peace we experienced during Bill Clinton's presidency. I have loved Hillary for years but I was astonished to see how she blossomed as a campaigner late in the game and won the hearts of the women and working-class whites and Latinos we need to win. The GOP thought they couldn't win with Hillary on the ticket because Ohio and Pennsylvania would be firmly and irretrievably in the Democratic column, along with Arkansas and probably even Florida. But of course Biden isn't going to take himself off the ticket. He was being genuine in his response to the HHHW; he and Hillary are close friends. I absolutely wish Obama had picked HRC and I agree with a PP who said his ego wouldn't allow it. But this ticket is what we've got and we need to make the best of it. We can do that by focusing on the men who are running for president and their enormous differences in policy and approach. There are absolute, clear differences in what these two men would do as president, and how they would do it. Everything is affected: the economy, healthcare, leadership in the world, energy and environmental policy, you name it. Voters say the economy is the most salient issue right now. Once the 9/11 observances are past us I hope we will see Obama come out his lunch with Bill Clinton today with a firm focus on the mantra of 1992: It's the economy, stupid. |
