The study of the effects of the repeal of DADT are in. And the result was no negative effect on recruitment, retention, or unit cohesiveness. This after years of being told that gay people would cause our military to unravel. We have also been told that gay marriage and gay parents would spell the end of civilization. In states where such marriages have occurred, we have yet to see signs of catastrophe, and the kids are doing just fine. We have enough data to know that acceptance of gays is not going to destroy us. Time to move forward. |
