Jeff,
There has always been rudeness on DC Urban Moms. That is unavoidable in this type of anonymous setting. Nevertheless, it seems to have gotten worse lately. Frankly, it has gotten to the point where the site is no longer helpful. I can't wade through the posts calling people idiots, the posts that get derailed before they get started, and the posts critiquing typos just to get the pittance of useful information leftover. It is not worth it. You clearly enjoy the "Political Discussion" forum personally. And it generates many hits, which I am sure increases potential revenue. Yet I believe it has helped to further fuel the air of nastiness on the site that permeates all the other forums. Political discussions in an anonymous forum, particularly in Washington, DC, will get nasty. If that is atmosphere you want, then go for it. But if you want a website that helps moms and dads raise their kids in today's world then you may want to rethink the political discussion forum. My guess is that you wouldn't even consider removing it before the election, but I hope the site can recover. DC Urban Moms was a good resource for me for a time, but I am removing the site from my bookmarks and don't know if I'll ever check back.
Just something to consider, in my humble opinion.
