What's going to happen in "counselor" class?

I am new in Fairfax County.
I found "counselor" was part of 2nd grader's schedule.

What is this for?
Why counselling is cluded in the routine scheduel?

It's just a lesson that the counselor does in the classroom instead of the teacher. Usually it's some kind of anti-bullying lesson, or just a kind of general play nice with others activity, team-building, etc. Nothing to raise eyebrows.

Also, it's a chance for the counselor to get to know the kids a bit, so that if problems do pop up in the class, she has some familiarity with the kids and the dynamics among them.

No. The GBRS is a rating done by the classroom teacher.
