Are people so ingrained in a cult that they cannot look critically at information to understand the actual state of our economy?

If sales are up 9.1% and inflation is at 3% what critical thinking am I missing?

Is sales volume up or sales revenue? With 10% tariffs, not surprising that sales revenue is up 9.1%

Irrelevant. This is a measure of consumers and their willingness to spend.

VERY relevant. Per Salesforce, order volumes fell 1%, 2% fewer items were purchased per transactions, while selling prices increased 7%

In other words, people are paying more for less.

Trump's economy is a failure.

Based on all the doom and gloom people peddle here these statistics seem very positive. People are paying more and sales are still up 9%.

take a business 101 class and then come back and have the discussion

Respectfully, you don’t have enough information available to you to be this smug.

Yes, we do.

Not true. BTW, if you took all the money from everyone and redistributed it evenly, in five years, those that had money before would have it again.

It's 50% willpower and 50% discipline/initiative. I've seen the most brilliant people who live hand-to-mouth.

I'll bet many of them are on DCUM. Oh wait, I'm wrong. Everyone on DCUM is a multi-millionaire, suave and 6+ feet tall.

I fail to see why you’re arguing with my statement. America is hemorrhaging jobs. Because people are losing jobs, they have no money coming in. This is evident by car loan defaults, mortgage defaults, missed credit card payments, and student loan defaults. Hence, they don’t have money. There is nothing controversial in my statement; it’s backed by numerous articles and statistics; not by a fantasy of who is worthy of money like your argument.

And the sad part is that there isn't a robust job market to tap into for those losing jobs. If you lose a job right now, you're in real trouble. It's spiraling.

America has money, but Americans do not. We have a distorted K-shaped economy where the upper leg of the K is the 1% that keeps getting richer, while the lower leg is the rest of America is getting poorer. Since the 1960s we have seen a massive wealth redistribution. America has gotten more productive and profitable, but wages for the masses have stagnated. Wage disparities between the CEOs and other elites versus the working class have gotten hugely distorted. The working class has made them richer and richer but has gotten nothing out of it. It's leading to our ruin, but the rich control congress and the levers of power and continue to only care about themselves.

It can't be all that bad?

What an uninformed post.

Getting back to reality if what is happening with electricity: our current president is worsening electrical costs with repercussions for generations. He wants to use more costly forms of generating power and let AI datacenters drive up consumer electrical costs while depleting our water supply, unfettered.

This is already happening.

Why did my electric bill go down?

I have no effing clue. Tell me why mine went up. On avg, nationally electrical bills went up. Anecdote does not override statistics so stop acting like it does. Are you dumb?

If true, most likely renewables augmenting the grid.

Why did my electric bill go down?

because it was a mild month that didn't require heating or cooling

DP..

https://www.nbcnews.com/business/economy/black-friday-shoppers-spent-billions-rcna246456

rising prices could be contributing to some of those numbers. U.S. President Donald Trump’s barrage of tariffs on foreign imports have strained businesses and households alike over the last year. And despite spending more overall, Salesforce found U.S. shoppers purchased fewer items at checkout on Black Friday (down 2% from last year). Order volumes also slipped 1%, the firm noted, as average selling prices climbed 7%.

This accounts for the "increase" in sales. It's misleading. Take a class in data analysis.
