My daughter usually goes to Roundhouse Theater for these days off, but they aren't offering it on the 17th. Any other great ideas? She loves theater, art, rock climbing, baseball, swimming, etc.

You need suggestions on where to take your daughter on a school holiday? |
Ugh, pp, are you really so dense or does it not occur to you that some parents actually have to work on school holidays??
OP, I hate to share it because I still haven't reserved our spot yet, but I will pass along our go-to spot: Audubon Naturalist Society in North Chevy Chase. It's a great place, wonderful people, and the kids have fun plus learn a little along the way. All nature related. |
CREATE Arts Center in Silver Spring has camps on MCPS no school days. |
Just kiss my ass. She was asking about baseball, swimming, and rock climbing. That told me that she was looking for places to take her. Not leave her. |
Why would a parent have to be there for these activities? I think it was pretty obvious the OP is looking for a camp-like setting for the holiday because she will be working. |
Artworks? |
Yikes Flo with a dirty mouth. I was looking for programs where I can leave my daughter for a day, when MCPS is out, but I am still working. Thanks to the others for the suggestions. Signed - OP |
Op, does she usually attend an after-care? My child's after-care is open all day on 9/17 and 9/26. |
Twinbrook Community Center (Rockville) has a one day camp for 9/17, 10/19 and 11/5. 9am-5pm
Computer lab, crafts & organized games. 240-314-8830 Other community centers may have similar programs. |
Thanks. She does, but she isn't a big fan of the aftercare, so I was looking at another option for her day off. But, that is our fall-back if needed. |
Seconded. They have a great spring break camp, too. |
Is spending the day with you at work an option? I usually set my 7 year old up in an empty office and let her play on the computer and the put on some movies. It works for the day. |
I'll second Create Arts. My DC has loved it. |
