Resort attire

We are going to a nice resort in the Caribbean in November. I've recently gone from a 16 to a 12 so my summer clothes don't fit anymore (thank God!). Anyway, I wanted to grab some clothes while there still are some sales on summer things, but it has been so long since I've dressed myself in anything other than shorts and a t shirt I don't know what to buy. Anyone want to help dress me? I'm 5'3" and very large chested, so that needs to be considered.

How about a bunch of cute dresses?

How old are you? I'm 5'5, very large chested and a size 10 (big boobs, small waist, big hips). Ive found some really cute summer dresses at Target as well as Anne Taylor loft, new york and company, and stores like that. I'm 26 and have found these stores to be great. I pair some of the target ones with cute short sleeve cardigans if they show too much cleavage.

I'm in my mid 30s. I do a lot of target stuff, but most of the dresses are knit and show every bump. I'm hoping to hide those as much as possible

9:27 here. I know what you mean with the material!!! NYandCO and loft def have material that's heavier and fit the body a bit better than target. I will have to find out where i got a few dresses that you would never think work by looking at them on a hanger, but they are the most flattering dresses I've ever bought.

what is your budget? i really like joie and tory burch for resort wear. j crew has good stuff too.

i would opt for tunics and tunic dresses.

My budget probably tops out at 1-2 j.crew level dresses, with the rest of the pieces maybe needing to be more like banana republic type prices (tops).

Love the Trina Turk resort line out right now.

You will need a summer dress for every nite you are there for dinner - and most restaurant seating is outdoors, so make it a cotton dress. Although I suppose a cute top and skirt would work too - just make it light and comfortable for the heat.

And your spouse or BF will need to bring some pants and dress shoes just in case they are required at some restaurants.

I think that other than dinner time and thereafter, I was in my bathing suit the entire week, so I would bring some wraps or some kind of coverup for over your bathing suit.

Thanks all. There are some good suggestions of places I wouldn't have thought to look here.

My last Caribbean trip I pretty much lived in my swimsuit and a pareo during the day. And you can wear a dress to dinner more than once during the trip. For a week, I brought:
2 swimsuits
2 pareos
2 shorts
1 skort
3 sleeveless tops
1 button front long-sleeved shirt
3 dinner dresses

I probably would have been fine with just one pair of shorts.

The Gap has some cute maxi dresses on sale. Those would be great instead of shorts and a tank for lunch, etc.

Athleta usually has some good skorts that are wicking / fast-drying.

Boden's summer stuff is on sale, and they have a lot of cute tops that are colorful and resort-y.

LL Bean and Lands End might have cute summer dresses that would work for your figure, too.

You could also do slim pants and a tunic for dinner, if that's more your style, but I find a dress much more comfortable in the heat.
