Rahm Emmanuel is kicking ass at the Convention Podium

I know people hate the guy, but damn is he hitting the points hard. If the President can make his case this way, the race is over.

i would respect him a lot more if he was back in Chicago trying to avoid the looming teachers' strike.

+1 - he's doing a great job. (Deval Patrick too, but Castro has connected with the crowd even more. Great comic timing, too.)

And doing something about the crime spree of epic proportions. Obviously, consolidating districts and shutting down stations has not helped with the crime issues in Chicago right now. He is an epic fail as mayor.

He's not plugging a leaky dike with his finger. I'm sure he can do his job for one day by phone and email.

I thought I was pretty cynical about politicians of both parties, and I know this convention was planned by pros trying to sell Obama, but I am exhausted from the emotions of the evening, and my face literally hurts from trying to hold back tears.

I expected a few rousers, but they far exceeded what I thought they could come up with. I am skeptical that they can match it tomorrow.

I am surprised that they put him on prime time. That guy with his finger on the 6-second delay must have been panicking.

Funny you should use that imagery, that's exactly how I will imagine him from now on. I had an immense amount of respect for him but he has slowly whittled away at it. He isn't very nice to constituents at events and I have seen him act rudely on more than one occasion.

I was really impressed, too, having had pretty low expectations. I hadn't actually heard Lilly Ledbetter's story (or awesome Alabama accent) or Tammy Duckworth's either. "I continued to try to fly the helicopter until I passed out." for one, I don't know how to fly a helicopter, for two, if one of my legs is destroyed, I'm probably passing out right then and for three, if both of my legs are destroyed, and my arm, and I'm able to remain conscious... Wow. Plus she gave all respect to her fellow soldiers who got her out and saved her life. And that mother whose daughter had had three open heart surgeries, and now they wouldn't have to stress so much because of Obamacare? GAH!
