Jeff's interview with David Grosso was very helpful to me, but there are two seats at stake, and I am not happy with either of the incumbents, Michael Brown and Vincent Orange. Along with these three, there are six others, Mary Brooks Beatty, A. J. Cooper, George "Action" Jackson, Jarni Pina, Leon J. Swain Jr, and Ann C. Wilcox.
I have met Cooper, and he seems like a reasonable person, but it was a brief meeting and did not address substantive issues. What little I know about Swain involves his background as a whistle-blower on the taxicab commission. I remember Statehood/Green candidate Wilcox from her run for Council Chair in 2010, and voted for her against Kwame (I like Kwame, but did not think he was a good fit for the job. However, it does not take much courage to say that now). I know very little about Beatty, the GOP candidate, and nothing about Jackson or Pina. Right now, I lean toward voting for Grosso and Wilcox, but I look forward to upcoming candidate forums. But I'd also appreciate whatever insights anyone on DCUM has. |
Also would like to hear people's insight. Don't want to vote for Orange! And I'm less than enthusiastic about Michael Brown. But I don't know much about any of these other folks. |
