....who would think I would be so stressed about this?
If I'm this freaked out, what must my new kindergartener be thinking/dreaming about? |
|
Don't worry, it will all be all right. A lot of us have been there and actually feel nostalgic for those kindergarten days!
Enjoy! Yes, it's a cliche, but it really does go by in the blink of an eye! |

I know how you feel. I was that mom who couldn't sleep the night before my baby went to school. I was anticipating her crying and not wanting to leave me.
So we walked to the bus stop, and as soon as the bus arrived...she bolted away from me with a "Bye Mommy!" and got on the bus with a "Okay everyone, I'm Heeere!". I just put my dd on the bus for fourth grade, and she's did her best to act like I wasn't with her. |
| This was me last night. I'm not powered by adrenalin (excitement and stress) and coffee. |

I am always like that the day before the first day of school....and it is ALWAYS my kid's best night sleep since summer. My first grader (who routinely wakes around 7:30 in the summer slept until 8:30! this morning) and preschooler until 8am. The preschooler even stayed in his own bed.
WE always joke that our kids like to sleep in on school days and get up early on 'fun, stay-at-home days'. My youngest starts K next year and I already am welling up...neighbors youngest started K today and when they called her class in this morning--I cried for her ! Even though mama took it in stride.
First days always are a big reminder how much older my kids are getting each year. My sister had her first go off to college two weeks ago...I can't even think about that! |
