Want to keep up my swimming at Wilson pool...any tips?

Anonymous
I have swam all summer and I am in pretty good shape with it...wanted to use Wilson, but have never been. Any tips from people who use it?

Thanks!

Where were you swimming during the summer?

I want to start doing that too, at Wilson. Have only been once, and was in the small side pool (I think it's called the "leisure" pool) b/c I was with kids. From now on I want to go maybe twice a week sans children, and swim in the lap lanes. Would be able to go from about 5:30 - 6:30 weekdays. Also appreciate tips / best days of the week to go.

You need a DC ID and you need to bring a lock for the locker.

I know if you don't live in DC, you can still use the pool but must pay a nominal fee.

Maybe some ear plugs to get through the check in process and any dealings with the front desk staff. We went to Wilson for a swim meet and were treated horribly by the front desk attendant from the moment we set foot in the building. Like we opened the front door and she started yelling at us and did not stop until one of the more experienced swim meet attendees asked to speak with a manager.

Weird. They were totally pleasant and polite to me. No problems at all.

It's a beautiful pool and has lap swimming at times with a 50 meter long course. Just check the schedule and enjoy!
