Lost my wedding ring... any advice

Anonymous
I am pretty sure that it's somewhere in my house and lost during some bout of exteme multi-tasking while trying to help my husband change a diaper and get ready to go out with baby.

With that said, we have turned the house upside down, checked the trash (ick), moved furniture, car interior, and left my name and number at the mall lost and found I visited earlier that day.

My ring is platinum so I wonder if a metal detector or magnet would help for check vents, etc. DCUM folks are pretty creative, so any ideas are much appreciated.

Op, did you look in the make up bag? Somewhere in the bathroom or kitchen area where you may put the keys?
I once found my in a small dish in a drawer. I've left on dressers in our sun room and on the fire place ledge. Also, check the pockets of your purse or cell phone.
Hope you find it soon.

Eek! That SUCKS. Think back and recreate your steps. Where would you have taken off your ring (before doing certain tasks?) Do you have any routines?

Personally, I never take off my ring so when I do, I would remember it.

Try shining a flashlight in the dark spaces at night. The diamonds will catch the light and sparkle. It's how I found my wedding ring (lost on the OUTSIDE of my car windshield!)

I'm missing mine now, and I pray it turns up. It's been 10 years and it always has. Hope the same for you. I've found it all kinds of crazy places, including on a tiny ledge that holds the mattress of our bed. I must have taken if off while sleeping.

Two things. My grandmother lost hers and after searching forever, they bought a new one. Years later a plumber found it in the bend in the drain. It is now my wedding ring. My husband lost his earlier this year taking leaves in the yard. We rented a metal detector. We found a lot of random metal shit in our yard but no ring. We concluded it must have ended up in the leaf pile that the county vacuumed. Replacing it was expensive since the price of gold has gone up so much. I would just ask if you decide to rent a metal detector to see if it picks up platinum. We rented it from a coin shop in downtown silver spring on Georgia ave.

I know it sounds obvious, but check the pockets of anything you were wearing and also check the inside of your washing machine. Good luck, I lost mine for the first time in 10 years last Monday and I found it later that night in a different jewelry box than I usually put it in. I had a pit in my stomach all day.

Has anyone taken photos of you recently? A photo gave us the clue we needed to figure out where DH lost his wedding ring.

We had our priest bless the replacement ring we bought. She told us not to feel bad, because she'd seen a lot of people lose their wedding rings.

Thanks for the advice. We moved the refrigerator today and no luck. I am looking everywhere even in the most impossible, unlikely places. I think we are going to try drains next.

If you don't find it tonight, wait a week. I swear to God you'll look down and see it like, in the middle of your living room one day. Stuff I lose ALWAYS resurfaces in some weird way like that.

That being said, I'd be a wreck thinking either of my rings were missing.

OP, I've one time put my parking card in my shoes. I took my shoes out from my car and put the card in there thinking I will switch cars the next day.
It took me awhile to figure out where the heck my parking entry card went...

plus 1. Try to stay calm about it. It probably will resurface when you least expect it.

Don't take garbage to the curb without checking through it carefully...same with recycling, newspapers, etc.

Dare I suggest you check the dirty diaper bin? You specifically mentioned a diaper change in your post.

DH lost his platinum band while throwing a baseball around at the park. He searched for it without success, then rented a metal detector and found it within minutes. Not sure if all detectors pick up platinum but the random one DH got did.

I hope you find it!!
