new to clomid

Anonymous
I am starting clomid for the first time today. I have read that you can sleep off some of the side effects if you take it at night, so I think I'll take it in the evening and hope for the best. My question for clomid veterans is whether it affected when you get a +OPK? I am not sure if I was ovulating before. I thought I was, at least some of the time, but I was getting regular +OPKs around day 13 until a few months ago, then I didn't get one for a couple months, then the last couple months it was on day 11. I'm wondering whether clomid changed your ovulation time? I'm also using a sperm donor so timing is more important for me.

I used donor sperm and took clomid. It didn't affect OPK. As for altering the symptoms by taking it at night, well, it really didn't make a difference. Instead of getting hot flashes during the day, I got night sweats. And I was still an emotional PMS wreck whether I took it in the morning or at night. Everyone is different. Just be warned.

I did 6 cycles of Clomid. First cycle I had side-effects (that was also the only cycle that was successful), after that I had none. Ovulation was affected - generally speaking, it has been happening earlier in the cycle though not always.
