Backup daycare?

Hello. My 9 month old son is currently in a home daycare which we are very happy with. Unfortunatley, the heat is not working there right now so I am staying home with my son. We do not have any family in this area. I was wondering if anyone knows of any sort of back up daycare situation for emergencies like this.

Most backups are associated with jobs -- you might want to check whether your or your partner's job has any associations w/a backup day care -- I had no idea that mine did (incredibly unadvertised benefit) until I asked around when I needed it.

You can get an individual membership at Lipton Corporate Childcare Center; and many of the other daycares will take drop-ins if they have space available.

Make a long list of students in the area that you can trust.
