Where can I find the elusive bolied peanuts?

Where can I find good boiled peanuts, canned or otherwise? I need my boiled peanut fix!! I have found them green at the market once or twice and did them myself...but there must be some ready to go somewhere I hope. Cajun or regular. I love boiled peanuts.

Harris Teeter has them in cans. Yuck!

I don't know about the ones in Harris Teeter but if you have ever passed through the south and didn't sop at one of those places on the side of the road to get you some boiled peanuts, you are missing a lot my friends. They are fantastic!!!

Wegmans sells them. Whenever I see the cans I always wonder what people use them for. Are they an ingredient? Or are they just eaten plain?

Oh, they are so delicious as a snack. But they have to be fresh, and preferably warm.

OP here, thank you for the suggestions. Really, don't knock it until you've tried it. Usually the ones in cans are not as good- but I'll take it!! Better than nothing.
Sometimes you can find them already in brine in the bag in the produce section. They are great heated over the stove. Mmmm

Yep, they are usually just heated up and drained. You just de-shell them and enjoy. Just as you would eat roasted or whatever. Great source of dietary fiber that can lower cholesterol levels. Try it sometime.

I think I've seen them at Trader Joe's.

I spent my summers as a kid at NC beaches. I loved going into the little roadside markets and getting a steaming hot bag of boiled peanuts ladled straight out of the vat.

I have found them in several Food Lion stores and a couple Walmarts. In these stores I have found them both in the can and in vacuum pack type bags. I don't eat them, but my husband is from NC and he loves them, so if I happen to see them somewhere, I'll pick some up.

Boiled peanuts are tasty. Some might have to get past the texture etc. DH has tried to make them, not too successfully. It's good to know that some places sell them, but I'm sure fresh is much better.

Put some peanuts in a slow cooker and simmer all day. Salt to taste.
