Math Enrichment in Vienna/ Fairfax

DS, rising 5th grade, is a very strong math student. He's in Level 4 AAP compacted math, and has been assigned to a pullout group of 3 kids who are even more advanced than the rest of the class. I like to find him math enrichment/ extracurricular in the Vienna/ Fairfax area-- maybe something that would help him prepare for math competitions. I'd specifically like something that is hands on/ problem solving/ strategy games, rather than a school setting. I'd also like to avoid online courses. Any suggestions?

[e-mail], a great Math Enrichment Mentor, good at inspiring mathy kids, help them seek fun of Math competitions, Mental math, logical thinking.
My son went with her this summer, very impressive! he jumped from 3rd grade (3rd grade AAP) to 6rd grade math in several weeks, and love all these very challenge, and fun logic reasoning puzzles, math challenge problems. She lives in Fair Oaks area, used to be a college teacher, very intelligent, passionate lady. She is organizing and coaching math Olympiad team, but, have very limited openings for the real advanced mathy kids. Try to contact her to see whether she still have openings.

Talk to people at Mathnasium. There are Vienna and McLean locations. Does math tutoring and enrichment. Not sure how much there is in terms of what you would think of as "hands-on" or whether they will tutor kids toward math competitons, but you can ask.

Is your child in the Math Counts competition program through his school? I believe the school has to have a team and kids cannot compete as individuals without a school team, but check into it.
