...Or so says this "Celebrity Trainer" who is criticizing those who don't for letting themselves go. She's making the rounds now on the morning talk shows. I thought the below blog (link posted) was a good synopsis and perspective.
Personally, I think this is just one more way to further the"mommy wars" and I could give a crap about anybody else's weight. But, then again, im not trying to make money by encouraging extreme tactics for weight loss. So, what say you DCUM? http://www.celebitchy.com/248290/tracy_anderson_criticizes_women_who_let_their_bodies_go_during_pregnancy/ |
| I saw her this morning on GMA this morning. I think she means well, but misspoke in the article, the follow up explanation was fine (on GMA). |
| Doh. I should have re-read the first sentence. This is what I get for multi-tasking. |
| truth hurts |
| Why or why don't "celebrities" understand that most of us just don't give a shit. We won't get as much as a penny for losing it all in 6 weeks or even in 6 years and who cares. I am fine if I have to look like I am still pregnant for 6 months like I had with my DS, I survived this and it's over, now I am back to my pre-baby weight. Not the end of the world. If on the other hand, I could make a mil or two, I might try harder. I have absolutely zero incentive to starve myself during pregnancy or kill myself exercising to impress certain vain friends or make sure DH still has interest. If you are afraid your husband is going to leave you or cheat on your if you carry some extra weight for a few months more or even for another year, you are in with the wrong guy anyway and will be better off without. |
The problem is a lot of women never lose the weight. Have some self decency. |
| You do have to feel sorry for this woman's daughter, don't you? |
| Wow. DCUM is really an interesting repository of women's innermost feelings. At heart, we are all insufferable snobs with serious body issues. |
| Her first son was born in 1988? Is that a typo? That means there are 24 years between her kids...wow. |
| Skinny or not, that b is fugly. I'd rather be fat than look like she does. Nice Snooki tan! |
| It seems like it would be hard to lose all the weight in 6 weeks, when you're supposed to wait thatlong before working out. |
Especially when you actually have a newborn to take care of, who have to feed every 2 hours and take a long time to feed. Unless you hand them over to someone. |
Even if you never lose the weight this doesn't necessarily put you into unhealthy or overweight category. I don't know many women who gain 100+ lb during pg or after kids. Most are struggling with the last 10-15lb. Wow. Will having to wear a size or two larger clothing make them a pig or lose their shape completely? We still look attractive in clothing, but we may not look great in a two piece bikini, does this make it indecent in your mind? Why would I care to look 100% perfect in a bikini, I am not going to pose for the magazines and I am not going to get paid anything for this. When the celebs and their ditzy trainers get their degrees and start doing some grunt work for free in addition to their day jobs, I will get to the gym for 2 hours a day and workout so that I could look like a bikini model without getting paid for that. For now, DH isn't about to throw me out of the bed for having extra inch of fat around my belly. |
| The problem is that "attractive and thin" these days means zero fat and ripped muscles, which makes some of these older celebs look anorexic and dried up like old prunes. Many of us cannot achieve that zero fat look even before kids. I feel sorry for young girls having to deal with all the body issues, and now the wave of craziness and obsession with being thin is translating to motherhood, LIKE THERE ARE NO OTHER ISSUES TO DEAL WITH WHEN YOU BECOME A PARENT, DAMN IT. |
| She can bite me. Until she pukes for 9 months and develops a thyroid problem during pregnancy that makes getting out of bed near impossible, I don't need her damn opinion on my diet and exercise regime. I still only gained 30 lbs, which is actually on the low end of recommended gain for someone fairly petite like me. |
