Recommend your day care (center and home)

Anonymous
Looking for recommendations for day care for our 2 year old son, either Rockville/Bethesda area near our home or in DC near our work (I work in Foggy Bottom/Dupont area, husband works near Fed Center).
We prefer a day care center that is not "corporate" and provides more personal care. We are also open to in-home day care.

I searched the previous postings, but I am still looking for some place with an opening. I greatly appreciate the input- this is a last minute child care change.

Thanks in advance

I just mentioned on another thread that we recently started at Blessed Hearts Daycare. It's an in-home and Mrs. Carmen is great. Our baby loves her and is very happy. She is close to Viers and Connecticut.

Devi Nathan in Bethesda is great -- experienced, intelligent, and loving, she puts the children first. She cares for my son (8 month old) -- right now, my son is the only child she is caring for -- but she would like to have a toddler/2 year old as well. She has cared for the children of numerous NIH scientists, university professors, doctors, and lawyers. I am interested in her finding another child (1) because she is a lovely, kind person and she needs the income and (2) it would be great for my son to be able to be around an older child -- babies learn a lot when another kid is around! That said, she is teaching him things -- since he was 5 months old, he has been able to clap his hands and wave. She taught him that! She has a small, personal in-home daycare and is licensed by MD. I cannot say enough good things about her. Email me at barrett_maggie@yahoo.com and I'll be happy to send you her number if you are still looking.

Hello-
I am a licensed in-home daycare provider in Bethesda, close to I270, the Beltway, and NIH. I currently have space for a two-year-old. Working with a small group of young children (infants and pre-school age only) allows me to provide high quality, individualized care in a nurturing - yet stimulating - environment. Please contact me for more information at rosie2009@live.com - I hope to hear from you soon.

Rock Spring is amazing. It's large but doesn't feel corporate at all. I'd ask for a tour - they just opened up a new 2's room.

Lily Pads in Bethesda is very personalized. I sent my daughter there up until this new school year and the owner was very caring with her and even sent pictures frequently. She has an opening for two year olds now due to kids going to preschool. Its m-f 8-6 and $385 per week. Her name is Leah and you can reach her at 240-743-4067.
