| I try to make it 10 pm (for a 12-year-old), but it never works. It keeps creeping up to more like 10:30. DC is up at 7:30 or so. Is it enough sleep? |
|
They need 10-11 hours on average. But if he's always been one who needs little sleep, I wouldn't worry too much. Is he tired or cranky in the afternoons?
My 11 year old is in bed by 9:30, but might read or listen to music a bit. |
| 9 pm lights out..He is up at 6:30 and does not get up well |
| Lights out at 9:30; up at 7. There's a ton of research on kids needing sleep for physical and emotional health. |

That is absolutely too late for a 12 year old. Needs more sleep, not less these days.
9pm--lights out. Take all electronics. Seriously. |
| 9 to 9:30 to bed and up at 6:15. On the weekends, he sleeps in until about noon. |
| For my 12 year old I want lights out by 9pm, but sometimes it's 9:30pm. On the nights he has soccer practice (Tue & Thur) it's a struggle to get him in bed by 9:30pm. Soccer practice is currently 6:30 to 8pm but I have just been informed they are probably going to switch it to 7pm to 8:30pm. This does not make me happy, there is no way he can get in bed by 9:30 if that's the case. |
| I'm pp, forgot to add he is up at 7am for school. |

Lights out at 9:30. Up at 6:30.
No restrictions on Friday and Saturday. |
