Lafayette Kindergarten Teachers

Anonymous
We have a Lafayette Kindergartener. Can anyone share insights about the kindergarten teaching team: favorite teachers? Problematic teachers and advice for navigating the year with them? Thank you!

Really? Is it appropriate for anonymous users to name "problematic" teachers on this forum?

DCPS is already in session, so it doesn't matter which teachers are our favorites and which are problematic. Your kindy child has already started with one of these teachers (presumably one who is, in your view, problematic.

So why don't you 1) give your child's teacher a chance, 2) hear what he/she has to say at BTSN, and 3)chat, in person or by phone, to other Lafayette K parents about their tips for a great year. And breathe. Your kid will be okay.

Trolling for people to talk smack about named teachers is out of line.

OP,

I think your inquiry is fair but these types of requests for information are consistently met with a lot of resistance on this forum. If you are new to Lafayette, hang out around the playgrounds after school and talk to some of the parents with older kids who may have gone through kindergarten. Sorry I can't be more helpful with more specific information.

It is a roll of the dice with teachers in DCPS....

The K teachers are great. Like other pp said, my advice for navigating the year is: breathe.

Troll is right. Post your name and your job title and let ALL grade your performance. So tired of people who abuse this site. Crawl back under the bridge...or get a job yourself, soccer/helicopter mom.

Why do you think asking for information like this is so abusive of this site and consider the OP a troll?

19:05, because your child is an individual and what if a teacher took the initiative to find out about your child. Believe me we have all the mechanusm in place to pre-judge but we don't. Sheesh! The that you don't want just might not want you. Double sheesh!

Put 25 first graders in front of most people and tell them "provide each with ALL they need...most people would run! Add the additional stress of poverty, drugs, murder, single family, divorce, stress...the list goes on and on. Step up?!? Oh that's right, those who can't do anything else, TEACH. I've heard that many times. Instead of trolling and tearing people down, why don't you support, ask questions and see how "as a team" you can do the very best for your child. I've prejudged many on this site who are simply trying to tear down schools. I hope Urban Moms considers starting a "crazy soccer mom" posting, or some about lawyers, doctors, priests, personnal trainers, truck drivers, maids, politicians, and more. I can't wait to comment about those I see drunk falling around NW DC.
