Anyone know of 2 yr old vacancies near or in DC downtown

I am re-locating to DC in January. I will be working downtown (K St. NW). We are looking for places in NW or NE. I have a 2 yr old son--won't hit the 2.6 mark until April--and I'm having no luck finding placements.
I dread having to transition him twice but am getting desperate. Does anyone know of good possibilities?

I have read on this list that the SEC just opened a child care center run by Bright Horizons so there may be openings there.

Also, some of the SEC people had their kids at the Thurgood Marshall ? spelling? based center but have now moved their kids to the SEC center, so there may be openings at either one of these.
