In a CBS interview(http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-18563_162-57501172/romney-my-views-on-abortion-rights-are-clear/?tag=stack), Romney said this:
"Recognize this is the decision that will be made by the Supreme Court. The Democrats try and make this a political issue every four years, but this is a matter in the courts. It's been settled for some time in the courts." What strikes me as totally disingenuous is the reference to the Court as though the President has no effect on it. Who does he think nominates Supreme Court Justices? And is he unaware that "settled law" can be changed (Citizens United, Heller)? |
Maybe he should use the free time from the postponed convention in order to read his party's platform. Or watch the tapes of his primary debates. |
This is your big beef with Mitt Romney?? So tenuated at best. You may as well vote for him. |
I wonder how DCUM's pro-life crew feels about Romney throwing them under the bus?
|
We're just so silly for thinking this is a national political issue.m And hey even if it was, Congress makes the laws, not the prez, amirite? So when you think about it, the President is the LAST place you should be concerned! |
OP here: 21:55, what gave you the idea taht's my "bi beef" with Romney when I specifically said it was more hypocrisy? Nothing attenuated, IMHO.
And 23:34 (if you're not 21:55), when I think about it, I realize that Obama's veto may be the ONE place I can count on to preserve our rights. |
