Best place to get tickets for National Theatre - les mis

Anonymous
I've never been to national theatre. I'd love to get tickets to Les Mis in December but the website seems confusing about where to purchase tickets. Is there a website you recommend? Google brings up other ticket agencies and I don't know if they are legit...

I think I bought mine on ticketmaster but, after seeing Cats there, I'll never go back. The acoustics were so bad that the only way we could understand/hear the show was by getting the headsets they provide to hearing impaired people. There were 8 of in our group and none of us were over 30. Perhaps the seats closer to the stage were better but if all you can afford is balconey, I wouldn't go.

http://www.telecharge.com/BehindTheCurtain.aspx?prodid=9040

is what I found. I'd like to get tickets too but the "new website" doesn't seem to be working

Seats are awful at the National. So uncomfortable and sight lines stink.

That's ok. Les Miz is a tired hack of a musical anyway. Such clunky poetry! Such simplistic, repetitive "music"!

OP, did you figure out where to get tickets? I'm having a hard time getting them too. The National Theater website doesn't even have it listed as one of their upcoming shows. When you go to telecharge, which is what's listed on the National Theater site, you can find it, but once you click on dates/tickets it says there's none scheduled. And yet lots of the other tickets agencies seem to have them (excpet I couldn't find it on stubhub, which is the one I have used in the past and would be comfortable purchasing from). If it's not on sale yet or if it's already sold out you'd think the National Theater/Telecharge pages would say so. Anyway, very frustrating! I'd love to get tickets. Yes, the National Theater isn't great, but I love that "tired hack of a musical."

That's rough. It's one of my favorites, but the new version is terrible, imo. Seems like they tried to bow to "critics" (like you?) and took out all the good stuff. It's way too rushed now, no turntable, and no more sweeping music.

If you're in the Dsitrict (or close to Metro Center) it's only a few blocks' walk to the theatre itself, where you can just buy tickets ahead of time a tthe window. Might be an option, especialyl if the website is so unclear.

I highly doubt it's already sold out, though. I used to go to shows alot (not so much since the kids came along) and you always find at least a single seat somewhere.

Not any of the PPs, but, wow, no turntable? That was one of the coolest things imho.
