Need Recaro Car Seat advice

I own a Recaro Start booster and am having enormous difficulty buckling the shoulder belt because the seat belt seems too short. I own a Volvo; perhaps it is just the Volvo that has a shorter belt? I like the car seat (spent a fortune) but fear I will have to buy another because the seat belt is too tight for my child. Any advice would be helpful.
