We are in at CM for PK. Just got the call from MV for a spot (somewhere in the 30s on the WL if I remember correctly). Which would you choose? Especially would like to hear from current or former MV parents and what they like about the school (or dislike).
Our DC is very active, tactile learner. Has been in a bilingual daycare for several years so has some Spanish background. I like the idea of bilingual education. I also like the idea of her getting the arts immersion at CM. Difficult choice. We only have a few hours to decide so aren't holding on to two slots for long! Thanks for any feedback! |

Congratulations!
We were at MV last year and were very impressed with the program. We liked the approach for alternating days for immersion - I do not think full immersion would have been a good fit for our child. We explored CM since we were not sure of how good of a fit immersion was going to be for our family longer term. I loved the apporach for class size and arts that CM offers. If we had the choice that you do, I would go with CM. |

We are a MV family, and we absolutely love it. The teachers are so dynamic, and the school is really creative. It is amazing to us how much parent participation there is, not necessarily in the classroom, but in the move process and in the regularly scheduled playdates. It really is more of a community than a school in some ways. This year there are a lot more specials being added, including an art classroom, an art teacher, a PE teacher, a yoga/movement teacher, and a community garden. Also, there was a lot of acting involved in most of the expeditions last year, and I anticipate that will continue. If you want immersion, I don't think that you could do better than MV. If you don't, then I would feel pretty comfortable choosing Creative Minds.
Either way, you will get to second guess yourself all year as they share the same building. |

OP here. Thanks for the feedback. We are going with MV. It came down to immersion for us--can we supplement arts, etc. yes, can we supplement Spanish, no.
And yes, PK is 4 and PS is 3. |

congrats! sounds like a great choice.
Do you mind sharing your WL number? We had what I thought was a pretty good waitlist number for PK4, but when I called the school about three weeks ago we'd barely budged and the person I spoke with wasn't at all optimistic. Curious how much things have moved. |
