our first year growing tomatoes and we have more than we can eat. I want to make some sauce and was curious if people had some tips for making a flavorful but simple all purpose type of sauce for me? TIA!
olive oil, fresh garlic, fresh basil, salt, pepper. This is the sauce I make (from boxed tomatoes) for pasta or other italian dishes. Sometimes I add onion as well.
I love to make uncooked, fresh sause from my garden tomatoes. Chop them finely, add olive oil, minced garlic, fresh basil and a little red wine or balsalmic vinegar. Salt and Pepper to taste. Let the sauce blend flavors for at least an hour and it's delicious on hot pasta.
