My humongous ta-tas

Anonymous
So I finally, after month 5, caved and bought some maternity clothes. My clothes from #1 were out of fashion so it's been me and a Bella Band for a while.

However, I headed over to the bra section and DEAR LORD, I forgot about how heinous the huge bras are (while the bottom half of me bears a striking similarity to the Sta-Puff Marshmallow Man, the top half: yes my friends, that would be a firm 36E). Straps the width of electrical tape; backs that look like weightlifter belts; big, saggy, beige cups. I just can't go there quite yet.

Anyhoo, any recommendations for big girl bras that won't make me look like Ethel Merman in an 18-Hour Bra commercial from 1988?

Thanks.

Regular or nursing bras?

If regular, I am a big fan of Rigby and Peller. Quite pricey but totally worth the money, IMO. Their sizes go to FF/G.

If nursing, I would recommend Anita Maternity (sizes go up to H).

Good luck! (Btw, I was 34FF pre-pregnancy and am 34G 2 months post partum)

Regular for now. I can go industrial strength when it comes time for nursing, but just am having a hard time watching my body go to hell again (I'm not a workout freak or anything, I had finally just lost the baby weight after 3 years and was feeling good about myself again). Gotta hang on to whatever I can!

I'll check those two out-thanks so much!

I'm a 32G (I was a 32DD before pregnancy) and I love Fantasie bras for my humongous ta-tas. They have a great t-shirt bra that bears no resemblance to an ugly 'over-the-shoulder boulder holder', which was important to me too Another tip is that I always have the best luck at Nordstrom's, where they seem to have the most knowledgeable staff.

Good Luck!

I feel for you, but only slightly because just like the PP I am also a 32G - it is even harder finding bras for large cup sizes with small rib cages. With that said, I suck it up and pay the price at Nordstroms b/c they have my size. I am a big fan of Chantelle bras which are no wider with straps and fit great. With that said, I made it until about 34 weeks and then the underwire started becoming a bit of an issue. I then ordered some off of www.figleaves.com (they are having a sale right now!!) as they have a whole section for bras that are DD and larger. They carry nursing bras in large sizes too and I hear the return policy is easy.

Good Luck.... just be ready for the price tag. I personally decided I would rather have 1-2 good attractive bras and wear them out during my pregnancy than a drawer full of ones I hate so as expensive as they are it was worth it.
