| For my 40th, I'm going to get myself Invisalign. Can anyone give me an estimate of what it should cost? I'm thinking both top and bottom teeth. Is it uncomfortable? Can you eat with it? Thanks! |
| FYI, it will make your breath stink something terrible! |
| I have invisalign. I think I paid 5600. I put down a deposit (can't remember if it was 20% or 50%) and paid the rest out over the course of a year. Putting the new trays in can be uncomfortable, but other than that, it's pretty easy. You don't eat with them - you take them out to eat. You're not supposed to consume anything except water with them in. helps cut down on the snacking! And I haven't found that they make my breath stink. . . I make sure to take them out and brush my teeth and trays more regularly - morning, couple times during the day, and night. It's known for being super accurate but also very slow. |

I've had Invisalign for 18 months and I'm very happy with them. My breath never smelled either, but you have to pay very close attention to oral hygiene. Do not eat with the trays in your mouth and only consume water (no coffee, tea etc.) when you are wearing your trays. I put mine in Efferdent in the p.m. while I eat dinner and it keeps them clear and free from discoloration.
I have paid approximately $4500 for my treatment. Good luck to you! |

They don't make my breath smell, but I am very, very careful about the oral hygiene. I floss like four times a day.
I paid $6900, which turned out to be a pretty good price considering I have massive overcrowding and need 60 trays. |
| I had invisilign and it sucked. They had to remake my trays 3 different times because they didn't get clear enough molds. I switched to iBraces which put small gold brackets on the back of your teeth. 8 months later I had a perfect smile, I didn't have to worry about anything day to day, and the price was the same. Look into that. |
Me again. iBraces are invisible at all but one angle. Invisilign is obvious. |
|
My Invisalign is not obvious.
The other good thing is that I only go in every 12 weeks or so for a check up. |

I had Invisilign to fix/prevent my teeth from moving any more as I get older. I only had 3 trays but now I have to wear them at night. I hated it. You have to remove them to eat, it's difficult to remove them when you get a new tray, there's a lot of spit involved and having two layers of plastic on your teeth makes biting feel strange. Also I never quite got used to talking with the trays in and had a tiny lisp. But it was worth it for straight teeth.
About iBraces- I asked my orthodontist but she recommended against it. Anything that goes behind your teeth will shred your tongue up until you get used to it. |
| Those who loved them, can you reccomend your orthodontist please! tIA |

It depends on your teeth, honestly. Average is probably $5000 - $7000. No, not uncomfortable, you get used to it. Just make sure you brush your teeth before you put them back in and CLEAN them every night or else, as the PP said, your breath will stink and your teeth will look yellow. You take them out when you eat, so yes, you can eat with them. |
