How much to pay 10-year old cat sitter

Our neighbor's son will be cat sitting for us and his parents say to pay him whatever we want. He'll be bringing in the mail, doing litter/food duty and maybe a little watering. How much to pay per day??

$10/day?

How many days? I'd say either $5 or $10, leaning towards 5.

$5 per day is plenty. Our kids have done this kind of thing for neighbors for many years and I am always shocked by how much people pay them.

We did 5 a day. Their parents thought anything more was excessive. Glad we didn't pay more...they accidentally blocked access to the cat box, so she peed a few places out of the box, something she had never done before. Oh well..

We have two cats and our cat sitter comes twice a day (they are used to canned food in the morning and at night) although since they are no longer kittens, this is probably no longer necessary... In any event, we pay $5/visit (so on the days she comes twice it's $10, but if it's only once - like if we leave mid-day - it's $5 that day).

We do $5 a visit for a high school student, but we always tip an extra $5.

In our neighborhood the going rate is $5 per day with one visit a day.

When DD dogsits and brings the neighbor's dog to our house, she charged $15 a day.
