If anyone finds FCPS "pass/advanced" percentiles for SOL's (ie what %of kids in each grade at each school scored pass/advanced) - pls post here.
(Thanks to the poster in another thread who gave the chart of pass percentiles from VDOE.) Thanks! |
| I am also interested in this. I could only find pass rates online. |
Same here. I am only guessing, but I think the pass advanced data may be posted in September on the FCPS school profile section. |

Pass advanced percentages are now posted in the School Report Card portion of the Virginia Department of Education website:

| Thanks for the above. What is the diff betw pass and pass proficient? I thought there was just fail, pass proficient and pass advanced? |

If there is a significant deviation in scores for one grade/subject (by deviation, I mean from the state/county averages), do you want to know what the reason is? And how would you go about asking WTF happened????
Math scores for our school's 5th grade were REALLY bad -- like 20 percentage points lower than the county average and the state average. This is not a case of the math tests being harder because that would be reflected by the state/county averages being lower. My school's 5th grade scores are typically at or just a little above the county average. So, the only explanation I can think of is that whoever was in charge of math curriculum REALLY screwed up and failed to cover what the rest of the county/state covered. A neighboring school with nearly identical demographics had scores that were significantly higher that state/county averages. So, I feel like someone needs to explain what the heck went wrong. But how does one ask that? |
I read the information as Advanced + Proficient = Pass So something like this: Adv Prof Pass Fail 24 58 82 18 24 + 58 = 82% of the kids passed |
