To the bike commuter on Wisconsin

Think about the safety of the child on the back of your bike. Father wearing a red checked button down and black padded vest was flying down Wisconsin past the Safeway (heading into Georgetown) on the white dotted lane divider between two slow moving lanes of traffic. I was planning to drift left a few inches in my lane when he came whizzing past and cut over into the left lane so he could turn left on the road that runs past Jelleff. This is the second time in the last few months that I've seen him riding in this manner with a child.

Ugh. Even law abiding bicyclists get creamed all the time on roads around here. Sooooo many bad drivers plus drivers who are so unaware of bicycles. I dont understand how a parent can do that.

Ouch. Fools like that give all bicyclists a bad name, and that's a shame (not to mention the fact that he puts a child at risk).
