Sausage in the fridge - only good for 1-2 days or until Use By date?

A roll of pork sausage that is. I purchased it on Saturday and the use by date is September 16th. I googled this and came up with 1-2 days only in the fridge.

Its probably good for a week after the use-by date on the label, if your fridge is at a good temp.

If you throw it in the freezer before that date, you should be good for 6+ months.

But, as always -- take a sniff before you throw it in the pot. You'll know if its bad.
