Post article (MSM alert) said Todd's wife toured a prison in a vehicle for a "short ride" without a carseat. Let the stone-casting begin. Is she a bad mom/hypocrite? Or is this yet another example of sexism? Meaning if she were a man, it would be written off as men aren't natural caregivers.

And when Alaska's public safety commissioner (appointed by Gov. Palin) reported to her that he had received complaints about the incident, she said they were "petty." She's awesome. |
OMG, when you spoke of Britney and a carseat, I thought of that Paparazzi photo of Britney coming out of a car. We have already gone places I would rather not have gone with SP; that would have been the mind-blower. I share this just for your amusement contemplating my reaction, not to gross anyone out. If it had that effect, I apologize. |
I assume it's the law in Alaska just as it is here. Does the law not apply to her? I'm sure all of us have had times when we wanted to bail on the carseat for whatever reason but I doubt any of us ever did. |
It is never petty to endanger a child's life. |
it was in a prison and not the open highway... why on earth was the child even with her? |
Yeah this is getting strange. She takes an infant to a prison? Keeps a crib in her office? All very odd none of it makes her qualified to be VP |
So she is damned for taking her infant, whom she is breastfeeding, about with her as she does her job? AND she is damned as a poor mother who never takes care of her infant herself? Make up your mind! And I am sure you could find something to criticize if she hopped into the prison vehicle on prison property to get from Point A to Point B within the prison and then said WAIT, we cannot go there without an infant car seat... I don't quite know what to make of Sarah Palin, but all this gutter sniping is making me almost want to like her despite myself. Since it appears to be human nature, particularly female human nature, to root for a likable underdog, isn't it in the Dems best interest to work on the issues and leave her child rearing decisions out of it? |
I don't understand why Palin is considered awesome for ignoring carseat laws. Do you and she believe that she is above the law? |
I don't know any women who would be breastfeeding inside a moving car. The point that was raised by someone at the prison system was that the infant should be strapped into his carseat for his safety. The message is that if Palin claims to "be just like us" then she needs to comply to the same laws to which we average people are held. |
Whoa, I was SO being sarcastic. I guess I never thought that anyone would ever seriously think she was awesome! |
i think I am gonna bring my baby to work with me tomorrow. Hey Palin can, so why shouldn't I be able to? |
Now that would be quite a revolution -- tens of thousands of moms bringing their babies to work, keeping cribs at work nearby, and breastfeeding while doing their jobs, whether it's touring prisons or anything else men do on the job (building construction, road work, operating cranes, driving big rigs). We should take the babies with us when we go hunting, too. We can breastfeed while waiting for our targets to come along. Thanks for the idea, 12:53. Maybe we should start a new thread to plan out this revolution... |
I'm waiting to see how Charlie Gibson reacts when Todd comes in and hands Trig to Sarah to give him lunch during the interview. THERE"S A BREAKTHROUGH for you! And they call Barack cool. |
