And what would black people do with their reparations payment? Buy a new car, a house, jewelry, or new clothes? How many would use the money to enroll their children in tutoring programs or private schools? |
All will. I am sure of it. |
^^^DCUM, where you have a member of the "Kamala Harris isn't black" group arguing about reparations with a bigoted immigrant on the MD Public Schools forum. |
wut? |
What are you even on about? Kamala Harris is Black. She's also descended from enslaved people, although the Caribbean experience is not exactly the same as the USian one. Even if she wasn't descended from slaves, she's still Black. Barack Obama is Black too. His experience, though, is different from the experience of a Black person whose ancestors were enslaved, then discriminated against. Basically, Black is a big umbrella and it isn't ridiculous to talk about different experiences under that umbrella. |
I at least appreciate that he acknowledged that our public school systems are so inequitable that AAs would need reparations to ever level the educational playing field. My kids don’t need tutoring, but I’ll happily take my share to pay for their college and grad degrees. |
LOL@ “my share”... good lord |
yup so to the idiot reparations troll, the people that would actually use the money properly are already "ahead" and the idiots who "need" it would waste it because they don't give a flying f^&* about themselves or their kids. Racism has absolutely nothing to do with any of this. |
that sounds fairly racist |
| ^ you can make any post or anything racist if you want. Oh have you seen my “white” undies? Yeah, you can call it my undies are racist undies too. |
that sounds fairly idiotic yes the reason that people in many parts of SE DC and inner PG are a f&ghing embarrassment is because of racism it has nothing to do with failure to take school seriously, drugs, crime, out-of wedlock births all personal choices that have nothing to do with racism talk to all the middle class and up blacks folks who feel the same way who work hard, give a dam about school and their kids and are doing perfectly fine in 21st century America. |
|
Some of the better reparations program ideas are focused more around supporting wealth building activities. Providing tuition for college, assistance with home ownership, start up funding for businesses, etc.
But anyway, this thread has drifted far afield of its title. |
Yeah, that's the "ADOS" folks who say they're not. |
