You mean Beverly Hills/Rosemont/DelRay? Or east end of Old Town? |
Meh, all their houses will sink one day because of marine clay and the weight of their pink and green hair ribbons. |
Hey, Rosemont resident here. We care very much about what’s going on at Seminary. And we’ve been complaining about BS traffic diets and bike lanes for years (hello King Street and Russell Road changes that have made our neighborhood a living traffic nightmare). Don’t group us with what probably is a rude OT resident. |

So the only common conclusion here is that most people in Alexandria dislike the Mayor and have no patience for his behavior, his direct control of city employees, his treatment of neighborhoods other than Old Town and Del Ray, his scooters, his treatment of citizens who speak at meetings, his slaughterhouse, his Seminary crap, and everything else. But he also seems to control the democratic committee.
So who's gonna run against him? Sounds like somebody who isn't awful could have a shot. |
No. Most people in Alexandria like the Mayor. A few extremely prolific people who spend a lot of time on Facebook, NextDoor, and here, really dislike him. Most of them voted against him last time anyway. Plenty of people in Alexandria use scooters. Many supported the "slaughterhouse". He treats people who speak at meetings very well and is responsive in social media. And he has support from all around the City (though somewhat less in Seminary Hill - and he actually did not do that well in Old Town) |
I'm sorry but have you spoken to "most people in Alexandria". How on earth could you make that statement that most people like him? |
There have been 6 accidents since the road diet. Also, I like how you have made judgment calls about the severity of the accidents post road diet, but not pre-road diet. |
I like the Mayor overall and voted for him (and would probably do so again despite this issue because Alison was not a good mayor and no other candidates have popped up). But let's be honest, he only won the primary by 1200 votes. I know A LOT of people who voted for him and do not like his behavior since the election. A viable candidate would easily give him a serious run for his money. |
Sounds like he has problems on East Alexandria. What’s left? |
Listen, I am on your side. When I checked the police records I saw the 22 accidents on Seminary Rd but nothing in severity. When I called the police, they told me there had been two fender benders and one accident where someone hit a block on the bike lane. I think there will be more accidents from cars merging just before and after Howard and back ups at Quaker |
Since the election we have had a wonderful waterfront park open, the new metro station is finally going to break ground, we have the V Tech campus coming, etc. He is an incumbent and will have a record of accomplishment. And I do not know what "behavior" you are talking about. Again, he listens closely to everyone on every issue. |
Other than one DCUM commenter (who I take it reverse commutes to Fairfax, and incorrectly blames the issues at King and Callahan on the King Street bike lanes) I am not aware of these problems in East Alexandria. And West Alexandria is far more than Seminary Hill (and yes, the reconfiguration had supporters in Seminary Hill) |

Problems for the Mayor in West Alexandria! |
| Whoah- vice mayor is in trouble. |
