You must be a Millennial. Remember that you can fix yourself through therapy. All this anger against your Boomer parents isn't healthy. At this point you are an adult and you are responsible for you. So focus on fixing you. ![]() - Signed, A Gen Xer |
Me exactly. |
There’s clearly heated debate because I see 18 pages that I don’t care to read. The definition of the baby boom period are children conceived in the few years following ww2. Considering the fact that w2 ended a full decade and a half plus before the 1960s I’d say no. |
I was born in '62 and definitely don't feel like a boomer. At least, not by the defining aspects of boomers: the Viet Nam War, the 60's, the sexual revolution, etc. I think I have more in common with gen x, but not quite. |
Born 1962 and a boomer!! |
Generation Jones:

Sorry you are incorrect. It has to do with when you are born, not your parents. I am 1966 and my parents were Silent. I am still Gen X |
Us cuspers have a hard time fitting in. I was born in Dec 1977 and feel the same about Gen X and Millennials. The Xennial descriptor fits me best, but most don't recognize it as a thing. |
1964, Gen X as I’m oldest of 5 in 6 years. |
Was going to post this too. I was born in 1972 and my husband in 1960, and we don’t have the same cultural references, but he also doesn’t relate to my boomer parents. There is another generation sandwiched in there. |
No you're not. |
Of course she is. |
A sociological generation is roughly 20 years, but it's really too many years for the group to share similar cultural references.
An early "silent" (born say 1928 or 1929) for example is going to have memories of the depression and WWII and were too old to be drafted to Vietnam or (for the most part) for the 60s counterculture. Someone born in 1943, say, would have no memories of the pre-war period and have been of college age in the 1960s. The latter half of Boomers were really to young to have experienced "the Sixties." And so on. |
Born 1961. Do not consider myself a Boomer. Do not related to them. |
Interesting. Had not heard about this sub generational category but thought t makes sense. |
