Norwood, Holton or WES?

When out-of-place comments, like 10:52, pop up the moment WES name appears on this forum, it's clear that it's the PR team. That post, in turn, only generates more of what I consider to be legitimate complaints from those of us who wasted tens of thousands of dollars at WES. You are not serving WES well when you do this. Now watch, a number of legitimate posters will decry the fact that what needs to be done is eliminate the mean teachers (which is why we left the school), then, like clockwork, someone from PR/Marketing will pop up and say we complainants are all the same person. Then will come a series of PR-generated comments allegedly from parents saying they are happy. This course of action doesn't serve WES well. If you would just listen to what the posters are saying, and follow through (strong new leadership, stop the all mom board, fire the cruel teachers) then these posts would stop. In the meantime, trying to post the occasional honor every time the WES name pops up is counterproductive because there are 100s of parents who were very unhappy there and they will post.

It seems like many of the schools do this exact thing with the same tactics. It does seem very obvious.

Hello: I am 10:52 (and 11:29) and am not associated with any PR team. In fact I am a current WES parent concerned with what you, "the" WES basher, writes on this forum as I find them offensive. Like every other school WES is also subject to criticisms in the forum. However, while some vent off, while others like yours' are not constructive and aimed at defamation. In fact a WES sock puppet is known to exist writing negative comments about WES and responding to his/her posts pretending to be a different poster. Could 09:36, 11:20 and 14:22 be the same person?

You, 16:30, make the WES situation worse everytime you post your scolding dribble. There are lots and lots of people in the DC metro area who dislike WES. Dull academics, stale teachers and overpriced tuition. Lets not forget the mean faculty. It's ok to dislike WES and to post about WES. Likewise, the WES boosters , development or administrative team are also entitled to post glowing reviews. It's all legit.

I agree with the PP, and we are not the same person (no sock puppet). WES is a revolving door of families -- it has been for a very long time!

I could not agree more. We are another family that disliked and left WES.

19:52 here again. WES was very friendly when they wanted us to enroll. Once we were there, however, we felt as though our DC was just a tuition check to them. We had a couple of bad years, and I could not stand the way that the kids were being treated.

I was told that the problems at WES were contained to one grade - like 4th grade or an even lower one, where the kids weren't getting along and a bunch of teachers left. Anyone?
Anonymous
3rd grade is a problem. The EC grades are great with creativity and good curriculum. After that, WES is not as advertised and there are lots of transfers to other schools.

There is something very wrong with the two negative posters about WES. It is very bizarre that they are responding to a post from years ago. For those of you new to DCUM, please know that this is not normal.

I think there are more than two negative posters! Third grade has always been broken and now 4th grade is problematic - expect more transfers!

possibly one or two counseled out kids' parents or the kids themselves, IMHO.

WES doesn't counsel out. They currently do not counsel 'problem' kids out.

I am a current WES parent and they do counsel out. Some apparently take it personally and years later continue to post.

I doubt WES would counsel anyone out (the tuition $$$)!

Really? I am a current WES parent. NO ONE counseled out that I'm aware of. But, I don't discuss that with faculty or staff to be honest.
And, if they do counsel out--what is your pipeline? I know the teachers love to talk about some students. Is that your source?
