5. Coca Cola endowment
6. Near major airport hub for ease of student travel
7. Solid private option in a region that doesn’t have that many private mid-sized colleges

A T25 private is elite, not just solid. Why does Emory get disrespected but the other T25s (ND, Georgetown, Etc) dont? It makes no sense.
It’s simple. Emory has no real standout programs and little name recognition. I see Emory is ranked in the top 30 which is solid for a private. Add in the LACs and Emory is probably barely in the top 40. This is hardly elite.

If Emory is in the T40, what would Gatech be? top 70? Please be real.

Times WSJ college ranking from a few years ago ranked unis and lacs together. Emory is ranked 20, Umich 24, Gatech 69

+1, I think this prives it. If GT was much better than Emory. It wouldn't need special rankings that are ROI or Pell grant heavy to shine.

I have no stake in this but was curious.

Top 30 colleges that think GaTech is a peer
Umich, Uva, CMU, CalTech

Emory
Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, NYU, UVa Rice, UNC, Umich, WashU, Northwestern

Really different how this Emory poster is going so hard after schools like GT or UMich (just to name a few) which are a few of the very well respected Publics in the country ranking high in many fields. 18 pages now with the mission to convince us how great Emory is. OK - you win. It's fantastic! Can we move on now?

We're you not able to read what I wrote? The ranking changed to be ROI and Pell grant heavy. It says it in the preface of the ranking that they dont care for prestige anymore.

Well this thread certainly wasn't started by an Emory booster. Maybe don't antagonize them (or others) with useless threads.

Not seeing it. You looking at old info. 2025 list methodology published below.

"The Times Higher Education US college rankings are based on a trusted methodology that evaluates universities across key performance indicators, including academic reputation, teaching quality and international outlook. "

I live in a top public district in the Northeast, and Emory has always been a popular school among Jewish students but that has substantially increased amidst growing concern about anti-semitic protests at schools like Penn.

I don’t buy this as a trend. My Jewish Penn friends are all now sending their kids to Penn. They are fairly confident the new Penn president won’t allow what happened 15 months ago.

However, you do raise an interesting aspect about Emory which is that it pulls more from the northeast than any other region. It’s also very popular among the NY private schools and has a strong NYC network.

Surprised this is still being dragged out. Emory is the top choice for the 3,311 ED1 students who apply every year.

With respect, if you’re not Jewish I don’t think you could possibly understand what it is like as a Jewish parent worried about your Jewish kid on an unfriendly campus right now. I can tell you that Penn is not on our list anymore.

I found this, on Emory

Emory University has an acceptance rate of 11%. Half the applicants admitted to Emory University who submitted test scores have an SAT score between 1460 and 1550 or an ACT score of 32 and 34. However, one quarter of admitted applicants achieved scores above these ranges and one quarter scored below these ranges.

I wonder what the scores of were of the 529 out of 1438 admitted students that didn’t submit scores. Wonder how that would have affected your stats above.

From Emory 2024-2025 CDS

Total first time, first year admitted and enrolled 1,438

Of those who actually enrolled:
Submitting SAT Scores 623
Submitting ACT Scores 286
= 909
