The same tired narratives year after year after year after year. This is it. This is the year. Capitalās run is over. Too many losses on the schedule. They donāt win games!! Players arenāt as good as the top teams. Terrible ranking.
Then Capital blows the doors off with a recruiting class that drives the Md clubs absolutely nutz. |
I could buy some of what you're selling if it happens. They had a downish year in the last 5 (low 20's?) and did fine. We seem to have a bunch of outside excuses rolling here (i.e. development pre-Cap) for what is the now 2 active recruiting groups from the Cap brigade. And they probably haven't had downish years happen before consecutively. These aren't the same narratives as when they're fielding top 5 and top 10 teams. So.ebody's floating imminent changes on another threead. If they pull a rabbit out of this hat, the Cap cacaphony will be louder than the naysayers. Capital probably hopes to "capitalize" on that mere possibilty, though, with this now crucial 2029 tryout window. |
Key maxim in the expectations game: Under promise, and over deliver. I don't think Cap leadership should be making statements like above. It does seem different this year. |
The top players at Capital will go to the better schools, the weaker players the weaker schools. Nothing is ever promised. Itās still the best option in DC/VA hands down. If youāre on the Maryland side, you have options. If your kid can play for an M&D or Heroās go for it. Capital is what it is and it works great for most kids. |
SERVICE AcademY offers coming out soon, right? |
Coaches are looking at two things. Superstar players that they can plug and play. These girls are going to get recruited regardless. Wins or losses on their respective club team is irrelevant. They are then looking at potential, speed, attitude, hustle, team play, etc... These are the girls that they will develop when they get to college. So if your DD is not a superstar they best be developing those other skills that will get them noticed. KAH at Northwestern built her dynasty with a lot of girls who were on "inferior" club teams. |
If you go to other clubs commitment pages you will see even the top clubs M&D, YJ, Heroes etc only place a very few girls on top 10 programs consistently. in the 24 class i believe M&D had 6 Yellow jackets 8, Heroes 2, Eagle sticks 0, Aces 0, Gold Coast 0. So the coaches are looking at players not clubs. Have to be competitive but W-L not that important

Asked in 28 forum but also posting here as 27s are more seasoned:
Can someone explain the difference in tournaments between blue and orange? Do they do the same tournaments? Are they always in different brackets,ie is orange always in the b bracket? |
There have been just three players from the DC Metro and Balto regions who have been recruited by KAH in recent years. One was from a #3 ranked Skywalkers 2023 team, another from a #15 ranked Capital Blue 2023 team, and another from a #4 ranked Skywalkers 2024 team. Can't speak to other regions but the trend for the DMV is that the player must be on a well known / competitive team to make her cut. |
Orange is always in the B brackets. Blue is in A but it varies by year as to how high in A they play. The 27s and 28s are playing in the lower A divisions this summer the the 24s played in the top divisions because they were ranked in the top 10 |
If your daughter had a chance to play on an unproven A team in the A bracket or Orange in the B bracket, what would you do? Yes she wants to play in college. |
What is the unproven A team? That makes a huge difference |
There is a Skywalkers 2025 commit from McDonogh, since you included Baltimore. Just because a kid doesn't commit to NW doesn't mean they were not recruited. |
Capital Blue 27 and 28 have both played and I believe lost to B teams this summer. Heros White is the B team of Heros, correct? |
Capital Blue 27 tied Hero's White. Never lost to them. |
