Good work, kids.

The Wall Street Journal just reported that 60% of Americans disagree with how Biden has handled the conflict.

Six months later, I find the silence of my Jewish friends as deafening as these students’ protests.

I will blame both of those parties.

Did you check on the percentage who support Israel vs. Palestinians?

You can look at the recent Pew poll. More Americans support Israel, so it’s not the gotcha you think it is.

NP. I saw a video tonight where the “kids” you are defending were screaming “Go back to Poland” at Jewish students. Something like 96% of Polish Jews were killed by the Nazis. Is this the side and behavior you are defending?

Except they are not Columbia students, they are confirmed agitators.

Al Jazeera news has video of students holding signs that Palestine will be free by any means necessary. Violence is being advocated for.

Jews are claiming to be scared to death of "WORDS" while Palestinian women and children are actually getting slaughtered by a Jewish ethono state. Y'all are full of jokes.

This absurd. This isn’t just a bunch of misguided students peacefully protesting what they view as the Israeli government overstepping their rights to self defense, this is radicals supporting a recognized international terrorist organization and actively calling for genocide and the dissolution of the Israeli State, often specifically targeting Jewish students, staff, and passers who have zero connection to the Israeli government, and denying Israel any right to defend their nation following 10/7.

Criticizing Israel is perfectly fine. Israel has, in the past, made decisions I do not agree with, but that is different then glorifying Hamas and denying Israel the right to measured self defense.

Stop being a snowflake. There are JEWISH students participating in the protests. Are they also subjected to "antisemitism" and violence? Present your evidence. These kids have no power to do anything but to voice their opinions on the matter - they lack the ability to make policy changes to end the genocide in Gaza. You should worry about the AIPAC crowd that owns your politicians, especially your Zionist president, Genocide Joe.

Sometimes I think that all of the other crap the dems put forth is merely to divide and conquer us as a country. Look to the one issue that US Politicians refuse to debate (support for Israel). I mean these people FIGHT about everything. Democrats and Republicans take a side that seems to be opposite on nearly every issue - except this one...

Right because our politicians (Rs and Ds) are terrified of the powerful pro-Israeli lobby in this country. It is not a secret.

They’ve been fed pro-Israel propaganda for decades. Glad to see the tide is turning. The truth eventually comes out.

How do you “correctly” criticize Israel? Posting on anonymous boards? Telling your friends? Putting a Canva pdf on IG?

DP.

You criticize the government and/or the military response, but you don’t call for its annexation or elimination.

You don’t celebrate or support acts of terror against Israel.

You refrain from blood libels against Jews.

Pretty easy. I manage it all the time.

No you can continue to arrest and belittle your paying customers! The only things that matter are donations from right wing extremists, helping the settlements grow and crushing Muslim.

Seems like only the trespassing, violent, racist and antisemitic pro-terrorist "customers" are getting arrested. A small number of morons really. Columbia will do much better without them.

It is pretty funny to watch the leftists eat their own. It’s too bad that a once aspirational school like Columbia has to be destroyed in the process, but oh well. The popcorn is worth it

Columbia is not being destroyed, Columbia is engaging in its primary function as an institution of higher learning and thought leadership. Plutocrats in power can't cope with dissent.

Ha. Nice try. The president is in crisis. Classes are being held online. Professors warned to stay away because their safety can’t be guaranteed. Hundreds of students have turned the beautiful lawn into a cesspool homeless camp.

But no, nothing to see here. Everything is just peachy.

Shai is hardly "professors".

ALL Jewish professors were warned to stay away. I guess that needs to be spelled out for you.

That is a lie. There are plenty of good Jewish professors at Columbia who unequivocally DO NOT support Israel's actions.

That is true. But out of abundance of caution/ safety concerns blah blah blah the school suggested that Jewish professors and staff not enter the campus

Classes have gone virtual, making ^^^ a distinction without a difference (they were not warned to stay away, and certainly not on the basis of their relationship with Judaism).

Columbia professors are walking out en masse to protest the canceling of students to please plutocrats in power. Columbia students have voted by an overwhelming majority in their referendum to divest from Israel.

Agitator Zionist professors are sooooo scared that they organize a violent takeover of the encampment and are enraged when they are denied access. Despite their agitation and incetment in social media, such professors are never suspended or fired.

This exactly. Calling for and acting towards its extermination goes beyond criticism. Perhaps even PP understands that.

Looks like mainstream America is sick of your Middle Eastern wars. Look at Candance Owens, Tucker Carlson. They are all sick of your wars.

Perhaps. But mainstream America always sides with Israel over Hamas. You won’t find a single “we support Palestine” flags in middle America, but you see “we support Israel” flags everywhere.

There is nothing mainstream America despises more than coddled, privileged rich kids “protesting” something which they know nothing about.

Yeah, well, we supported slavery and opposed suffrage and civil rights pretty ardently at points in time, too. That's the camp you're in now - wouldn't want to be pro-Israel in the coming years as reckoning starts to arrive with little to no notice.

As an atheist I prefer my chances with Zionists who support Israel over any future Islamicist intifada.

Thanks for the concern though.

I guess some people think differently

+1. Only long term impact is more funding for defense.

Even these pampered idiots who are protesting don’t really want a world that diminishes their privilege.

Would they give up their spot at Colombia to a Palestinian? Will they give their inheritance to Palestinians?

Of course not.

Hollywood tells them it’s cool to protest for social justice, so they are protesting to post snaps and signal their status as cool revolutionaries.
Anonymous
I’m impressed by the protestors (the non-violent ones). I would be too scared to risk my university degree to do this. The pro-Israel lobby is pretty ruthless and will stop at nothing to crush dissent. Two terms that get flung around far too casually- calling someone an antisemite and/or calling someone a racist.
Both are overused and may eventually lose their power because of their extensive manipulation and misuse

Hilarious. They are the sole function of Columbia’s existence. Columbia cannot exists without students and professors, but it can exist without bloodthirsty plutocrats.
