I love milk but I find most of it tastes disgusting-either has a burnt taste or tastes like plastic.
I don't care for the taste of organic milk, but Safeway brand and Shenandoah farms are both awful I like trader joes non-organic, any other suggestions? |

try an organic milk that is NOT ultra-pasteurized. yum!
I like Natural by Nature from Whole Foods. Or even the 365 brand. |
| I buy the glass bottle milks from whole foods. Tastes great. |
|
Another vote for the Natural by Nature brand. I don't normally love milk anyway, but that stuff is pretty decent. I think it comes from Pennsylvania.
Also agree with the PP about getting it in the glass bottles. (Natural by Nature only comes in a carton.) |
| South Mountain Creamery-yum. |

Ultra Pasteurizing is the issue.
Most organic is ultra pasteurized - it extends the shelf life. |
|
The best cow's milk is the least processed.
Unless you wish to risk raw milk, then buy fresh flash-pasteurized, and NEVER buy ultra (unless drinking goat's milk, the strong taste of which is softened by the heat). I agree that organic or grass-fed helps - it's obvious that diet affects what animals secrete and that goes for human breastfeeding as well! Glass bottles help too because there is no flavor transfer from the packaging into the milk. |

and homestead creamery bottles are returnable for cash... |
| Yup, my milk is awesome, right out of the glass bottle. I do Homestead Creamery as well. |
| Is it a requirement that every reply to this post include the words "Yum!" or Yup ? Is it 15 yr olds night tonight? |
Does menopause have you in a knot tonight? HRT might help you know. |
| Is homestead creamery only sold at whole foods? Do I really have to go all the way to WF just for my mik? Damn. It's not close to me so I don't normally shop there |
I agree!!!!! |
| How much more expensive is south mountain creamery? |
