Should HRC help Obama?

Anonymous
I found it interesting that HRC will do limited campaigning for Obama citing that she has other commitments. I can't blame her for not wanting to bend-over-backwards to help Obama and I wonder if this will subtly turn into a type of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend".

If she really believes in the causes she espouses, then she damn well should help him. No matter what happens this November, her life will be okay for the next four years. The same can't be said for many Americans.

Be fair, please. I know a little something about this. HRC is very aware of the importance of this election, not only at the presidential level, but at the congressional level as well. She promised her help to a number of candidates when Obama seemed disinterested in using her. She is not going to devalue those commitments. Then when McCain picked Palin, Obama's staff approached HRC and a bunch of other women surrogates. It's a little tricky, though. The GOP was giddy with delight when Obama didn't pick HRC. They're over the moon with happiness about Palin. The only people giddier about Palin than the GOP are the media. There is some concern that the media, which seem out of control these days, will portray any HRC-Palin dustups as female catfights. Hillary is not going to let herself be drawn into being a distraction from Obama. She will do everything she can for Obama while making sure the focus is on Obama versus McCain.

She should definitely help him. She is a woman of substance and the comparison between her and Sarah Palin cannot but help Obama.

Its tricky. You don't want to further excite the conservatives who hate HRC more than any other human being on eartch by highlighting a fight between them. To an extent, it is a little insulting for HRC to have to go up against such a neophyte as if she was an equal but not only every women's issue but the issues that directly affect the lower and middle income classes, groups the Clintons have fought to protect are on the line here. McCain and Palin will do incredible to damage to these groups. I would have enormous respect for HRC if she could find a way to insert herself and disrupt McCain/Palin.

It is a serious risk to think that Obama losing means HRC will take the white house in 4 years. I just don't think this would happen as much as I want HRC and we would end up with 4 years of disaster.

I'm very afraid that we are not going to hear from her AT ALL. In some deep dark place she doesn't go to very often there might be the feeling that he decided to do without her, and so she'll let it stay that way. Or Bill just is too explosive to be allowed to go anywhere with her now.

If she's smart (which she is), she will figure out a way to "help" Obama, all the while doing everything possible to ensure that he loses (which he very well could), setting her up perfectly for a run against VP Palin in 2012, after McCain announces that he's had enough....

And after 4 years of McCain-Palin in office, I think HRC would trounce her....

Isn't she going to FL to campaign for Obama?

That is about it. HRC is going down there and then from there she is coincidentally busy with other commitments (or so that is what was reported in the article I was reading).

Fundraising for other Democrats and fundraising to pay down her campaign debt is what I heard. Hardly sitting on her A$$ - and she made these time commitments when Obama wanted her far, far away from him, right? To blame her for not having an empty calendar is silly.
