Venues/Ideas for 6-year-old co-ed birthday party?

Does anyone have any ideas for a 6-year-old birthday party that would be suitable for both girls and boys, and could be done somewhere other than our house?

The National Zoo has birthday party packages that members can sign up for. You have to join FONZ first (Friends of the National Zoo). We just signed up for a date in December, but it will be our first time, so I can't tell you how good or bad it actually is, but it looks like fun, and I'm so looking forward to not doing yet another Thomas the Tank Engine theme. We rented the Lion's Den, and will take a tour of the lions, tigers, and gorillas. They provide everything but the cake. You can even order coffee and bagels for the grown-ups.
